Press Release

Just as Al Gore Calls for Sustainable Living with his Inconvenient Truth The Book Soul-Full Eating Provides Answers One Plate at a Time

If you’ve seen Al Gore’s movie An Inconvenient Truth, read his book, or even just resonate with his message, you’re probably wondering how you can do your part to save the planet and protect the future for generations to come. Maureen Whitehouse’s new book “Soul-Full Eating” (www.soulfulleating.com) delivers some immediate solutions to us, as she explains how the choices you make at meal-time can be more conscious and environmentally sound.

(PRWeb) March 20, 2007 — It’s easy to feel overwhelmed at the thought of responding to Al Gore’s call for action in his eloquent book and movie, “An Inconvenient Truth.” OK, we need to live in a more sustainable way in order to curb global warming. But what the heck does “sustainability” mean anyway?

“What people like Al Gore are talking about is the ability of human beings to stay alive on planet earth, today and in the future,” notes “Soul-Full Eating” author Maureen Whitehouse. “Human demands take their toll on the planet and affect what it can give back. Our excessive demands also change the earth, with effects like global warming. But we can begin to make better daily choices, ones that will have less damaging or even positive effects.”

With her new book “Soul-Full Eating,” Maureen Whitehouse explains how our consumption of food can become more conscious — allowing us to help heal the planet through the way we eat. “Better choices resonate within each of us on what I call ‘a Soul level,’ and they help us feel more connected. Feeling more connected to others, we make better choices more often. It’s a positive cycle that builds.”

Whitehouse notes that the steps that make a difference can start out small. For instance, you could begin to buy foods as close to their natural form as possible, foods which require less labor and energy to produce and use less packaging. You might choose an apple over a candy bar. You might choose to drink water over a can of soda. You could choose to avoid genetically engineered foods. Etc.

A virtual encyclopedia on how to eat well, “Soul-Full Eating” (www.soulfulleating.com) covers everything from how to learn to eat Soul-fully, to how and why to eat organic locally-grown foods whenever possible, to why raw, enzyme-rich foods are essential to include in your diet, to plenty of nutrition basics, plus a primer on the best food plans available today. The author originally researched nutrition because of a desire to stay thin and healthy as a high fashion model, and she has never stopped. Her depth of knowledge and level of consciousness make the read insightful, fun, delicious, and helpful to the planet.

“I’d like to offer people hope,” said Whitehouse. ” To deliver the news that there are simple things you can do to affect global change for the better. Yes, responding to Al Gore’s call to action can start as simply as choosing different foods to put on your plate. And you can learn to make better choices more easily when you know how to eat in a way that resonates with your Soul.

Straight A Diet; The 7 Most ‘Intelligent’ Foods to Put in Your Child’s Lunchbox
Radio-TV Interview Report

Millions of American children, preschool through college, are returning to school for another year of learning and development. How can parents be sure their children get the most out of the learning experience? What will give young learners an advantage every day?

Nutrition expert and former educator Maureen Whitehouse says enhancing the learning ability of children means paying attention to what goes into their mouths, as well as what goes into their minds.

She’ll discuss on-air:

• Why poor eating equals poor education. Learning and behavioral problems like ADHD can surface when children feel hungry or undernourished.

• Even bright kids who aren’t getting proper nutrition can experience lackluster grades, classroom frustration, low self-esteem and relationship troubles.

• How chemicals, junk food and not-so-fresh foods affect a child’s school performance and ability to understand and retain information.

• Healthful, tasty “straight A” foods school-age children should be eating: fresh, interesting, creative foods in a rainbow of colors.

• The #1 food “additude” that naturally promotes ideal weight.

• Rewards for cutting back on kids’ caffeine and food flavorings.

• Whether parents should be giving their children vitamin pills.

• And more advice for replacing low nutrition with high marks from happy, well-balanced children FULL of engaged, lively, inquisitive spirit.

This Expert brings love back to mealtime.

Sometimes all that people need to do to eat better is to find a healthy helping of inspiration to see things differently, seasoned with a well-presented mix of nutrition education.

Maureen Whitehouse artfully combines her knowledge as an expert in nutrition and spirituality to address an appealing and often obsessive topic for Americans – the way we eat. Her latest book, Soul-Full Eating, leads readers to better choices by showing them how to discover the foods that are truly satisfying for them as individuals. She looks at this as being satisfied with the food on a “Soul” level.

Maureen Whitehouse’s extensive knowledge of nutrition grew from the demand to maintain a “picture perfect” image as a model and commercial actress. Surrounded by other women who took drastic measures to stay in shape, she took a path of self-love to learn what would keep her both trim and healthy. Her new book Soul-Full Eating is an artful compilation of her 20+ years of experience with nutrition and is a virtual encyclopedia of how to eat well.

The Founder of Axiom and the author of the Transformational Triad, Maureen Whitehouse has used spiritual principles to help thousands of people to radically shift their perception of challenge, transition and change.

Planning On Cleaning Up Your Diet?
New Cutting Edge Book, Soul-Full Eating, Can Help

In this fast-paced world, planned improvements to our diet [or New Year’s resolutions (for long lead-time mags)] can easily become just another addition to a lengthy To-Do List. Well-meaning intentions to eat right can leave us feeling overwhelmed or guilty when we don’t find the time or wherewithal to accomplish our goals. Maureen Whitehouse’s new book, Soul-Full Eating, is a much-needed guide aimed at helping us reconnect to a healthy way of consuming food simply by being aware of what resonates with the deepest part of us, our Soul.
“As a fashion model in New York City and Europe, I was compelled to learn about nutrition to keep myself slim and marketable for the camera,” remembers Whitehouse, who now serves as a Transformational Life Coach through her Hollywood, Florida institute, Axiom. “At the same time, I searched the world for ways to stay emotionally and physically healthy in the often superficial environment of high-fashion modeling.” The newly released Soul-Full Eating (423 pp., ISBN 978-0-974869-6-0, 7-1/2″ x 9-1/4″, hardcover) now combines her expertise gained over many years in the areas of spirituality and nutrition to create a practical guide that turns each meal into an opportunity to nurture and fulfill body, mind and soul.
Whitehouse, who has led self-esteem workshops in public high-schools and state prisons as part of her work as a Life Coach, all while raising two children, is no stranger to multi-tasking. Her solution to feeling satisfied with life is not to do more or cut back on anything, but to simply “show up to your own life as authentically as possible.” She uses food as an example of how much joy, contentment and fulfillment most people miss each day of their lives, mostly because they’re not paying attention to the moment they’re in.
Maureen’s mantra, and the book’s premise, is to “eat with love what’s grown with love, prepared with love and served with love.” This means stopping to consider what we’re eating, where it comes from, why we are eating it, and also to be grateful that we are eating it at all. She says, “From my perspective there are only two options in life. One is love and one is fear. If you’re approaching food with complete love, then there can be no fear surrounding it – no guilt, no pain, no overeating, over-consumption, over-indulgence, etc.”
To help us practice mindful eating and make informed decisions about our food, the book Soul-Full Eating includes:

Over 300 pages of well-researched information on nutrition

Whitehouse advises that each reader use the information to experiment and eventually settle on the diet that feels individually most satisfying. She says, “Most people don’t know what they want. We’re so busy listening to others, hearing what we should or shouldn’t be doing, and following fads, that we don’t take the time to connect with ourselves to find out what it is that we need.”

It’s an approach to eating that easily applies to many other areas of life and has far-reaching effects. Whitehouse is convinced that we “can change the world one plate of food at a time,” starting with our own. In its pages, Soul-Full Eating draws profound connections between the food on our plate and our relationship to the rest of the world, touching on sustainability issues, world hunger, the long-term effects of the choices we are now making, and more.

Yet, at the same time, through anecdotes of her own journey from fashion model to Life Coach and a wide array of clear and concise information, Soul-Full Eating makes it seem feasible, fun – even delicious – to transform our lives. This is one book that will help you keep, and enjoy, your diet improvement plans [or food-related New Years resolutions (for long-lead-time magazines)] for years to come.

Eat Your Way to Enlightenment!
New Book, Soul-Full Eating, Tells You How

There are so many obvious ways that we can miss the opportunity to live a supremely fulfilling life. But what surprises most people is that spiritual fulfillment can be found through eating… that is, when you are choosing foods which resonate with your Soul.

In her provocative book, Soul-Full Eating, Maureen Whitehouse tells readers how anyone can become a spiritual master at mealtime. She artfully combines her knowledge as an expert in both nutrition and spirituality to guide people along this path. Her suggested journey to consciousness asks readers to not only observe how they choose, prepare and eat their foods, but also to take a long, lingering and loving look at the relationship they may, or may not, have with their Soul. She asserts that the one and only way to truly feel “full-filled” at mealtimes to is make choices that resonate with this deepest part of ourselves.
A seasoned Transformational Life Coach, Whitehouse’s expansive knowledge of nutrition grew from the demand to maintain a “picture perfect” image as an international model and commercial actress. This initial goal led to decades of experiences traversing the globe studying the world’s diverse nutritional and spiritual traditions. In 1996, she experienced a profound awakening and since then she has lived her life helping others realize their full potential. As the founder of the Axiom institute and creator of The Transformational TriadTM, Whitehouse has helped thousands of people to radically shift their perception of challenge, transition and change. Promoting the principles of Soul-Full Eating is just one highly-regarded aspect of her work.

Discover how you can connect to yourself and the planet in deeper, more loving ways through food by reading Maureen Whitehouse’s book, Soul-Full Eating – A (Delicious!) Path to Higher Consciousness (Axiom Publishing, hardcover, $26.95, ISBN 978-0-9745869-6-0). To learn more, visit: www.Soul-FullEating.com or www.ExperienceAxiom.com.

Soul-Full Eating can be ordered by calling 800/611-6165
or by visiting www.Soul-FullEating.com or www.ExperienceAxiom.com.
The book is distributed by Midpoint Trade Books (www.midpointtradebooks.com).
